Daniel Blackburn

Daniel Blackburn is a session and touring drummer, drum educator, audio engineer, and the founder and former owner/operator of Rogue Valley Drum School, Oregon’s first percussion-centered music academy. He has a passion for music, teaching, and recording and has over 14 years of drumming experience. Daniel has been associated with Music Lab Schools since 2009, originally as a former student. He started teaching at Music Lab in 2015 as one of the youngest instructors on board. Daniel performs across the West Coast with pop artist Amber Delarosa, indie-pop duo Mirrors, his bands Blackburn and Stablemate, and many other bands/artists. He has studied under some of the best drum instructors in the country, including: Mike Johnston, Matt Halpern, Joseph Arrington, and JP Bouvet. Daniel has taught a multitude of students in his educational career and has even hosted several drum clinics. His goal is to inspire and spark the creativity of his students as well as help them build a foundation to play in a variety of musical settings. Lessons are personalized to match the needs of each individual student. Stylistically, he specializes in teaching rock, indie/alternative, pop, and contemporary christian music.
